The True North Approach to Executive Coaching
At Blue Star Partners, all of our executive coaches are certified and members of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a globally recognized body that supports the advancement of the executive coaching discipline. Our True North approach to executive coaching is a very simple, yet effective step-by-step process that we work through together with you:

- Establish the Context
A key goal during this phase is to clearly define the problem, challenge or opportunity that our clients want to address during the time of this engagement.
We will use a number of techniques (e.g., brief life history; 360 degree feedback; interviews with key stakeholders; personality profile; sample work products, etc.) to collect data that will help us draw a collective current state “picture” of the client’s key strengths and limitations. - Interpret Content & Create the Plan
During this phase, we will work with our clients to summarize and interpret feedback, examine disparities, explore options and create a coaching plan with SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely) goals that align with personal values and organizational priorities. - Execute the Plan & Reflect
Here, a key goal is to move to action and improve performance. We work with our clients as they begin “piloting” some of the actions in their coaching plan (i.e., trying out new techniques or strategies).
Along the way, we help our clients explore opportunities for on-going self-appraisal and learning by combining challenging / provocative thoughts with support and encouragement as we reflect together on the actions taken to date.
